Of those who lauded military proficiency, B Sq was typically left out of the conversation. I was only in from Sept to early Feb that year, when an accident left me in an arm cast and of no use to the brave lads of the Corps.

I chose to stay in school rather than flunk out, so I left the Corps after that year. Transferring out in mid-year in those days meant getting drafted and going to Nam, likely.
